The Austin Mar Thoma Church Choir plays an integral part in leading worship by helping
congregation sing together and experience the presence of God. Both English and Malayalam
hymns, convention songs, special anthems are carefully selected, prepared, and rehearsed to
support and enhance worship. Songs are chosen every Sunday to reflect on the messages of the
day. In addition to singing on Sundays, choir also performs during annual events, such as Parish
Convention, Austin Ecumenical Christmas program, Parish Christmas Carol program, and
special occasions.
The success and tremendous growth of the AMTC Choir is due to our many talented and
dedicated choir members. Our choir members sing with reverence, beauty, and passion. Our
choir members are a joy to work with and share close fellowship, friendship, and warm humor.
Each year, choir members faithfully learn many new songs and help each other grow in their
talent. AMTC Choir is very grateful to have young musicians accompanying the choir during
worship by playing instruments such as Piano, Violin, Cello and Guitar.
Our Choir is registered under the Department of Sacred Music and Communications (DSMC),
the official music department of the Mar Thoma Church. Currently there are 18 choir members.
Our rehearsals are every Sunday an hour before service. All are welcome to join choir. Please
